Everyone expresses gratitude – especially on Thanksgiving.
My gratitude feels quite personal. When I was ten years old, I wanted to see a therapist. Dr. Dixie Covey (may she rest in peace) was the lucky lady. Well, actually, I was the lucky client.
I sat with her for years and brought her doughnuts on a weekly basis. I watched her smoke cigarettes and her dog sat up at ten to the hour and let us both know our session was over.
This week I had the PLEASURE of watching one of my students lead the most wonderful workshop on pleasure.* It is humbling and inspiring when your student becomes your teacher. I am grateful for this experience. I feel like my work as a teacher has come full circle.
Ask yourself this – what is your gift to share with the world and where are you boldly sharing it? Where are you holding back? Ask yourself why! The world needs your magic, and then you just might have the pleasure of seeing your student become your teacher. I am not sure if there is a better gift of giving and receiving.
*Laurie Dievendorf’s next LET’S TALK ABOUT PLEASURE workshop is Monday, December 10th from 6:30-8:30pm. It’s at East West Integrative Medicine Clinic 605 Chenery Street in San Francisco. It’s only $90. I can’t recommend it enough.
