This month, our theme is OWN YOUR SELF-WORTH. Not just talking about it. Living it. I feel confident teaching this because I practice what I preach.
For me, self-worth shows up in how I live my days. It means staying connected to my inner wisdom. One way I do that is by continuously listening for and firing my Inner Bully.
The Inner Bully is the voice that tells you you’re behind, not enough, or doing it wrong. That voice developed somewhere along the way, but it is not who you truly are. Your wisdom lives underneath the negative noise. When we quiet the negativity, we can finally hear our inner wisdom. And this wisdom is the root of self-worth.
Here’s something I’ve been noticing lately. Creativity is what helps guide me back to my inner wisdom. It helps me discover new solutions in my life and reminds me to keep growing. It also steers me away from the quick dopamine pull of social media and Netflix – lol.
Most of us know that too much scrolling on social media drains us. It wakes up the comparison bully very quickly. And still… we keep doing it. Why? Because our brains love the quick dopamine hit. Scroll. Like. Scroll. Like. It feels stimulating for a moment. But it usually undermines self-worth.
I know for sure that self-worth grows in slower places.
This is evident when I take the time to write.
I feel a shift in my self-worth when I openly discuss the issues in my life.
When I create something with my hands.
When I paint, doodle, journal, or make something simple, my brain slows down, and something shifts inside me.
Creativity is not about being an artist. It’s about finding ways to reconnect with who we truly are.
This month, I’m inviting you to join me. Put the phone down a little sooner. Pick up a pen. Write one honest sentence. Send a card. Grab scissors and glue. Doodle. Paint. Create. Not for perfection. For connection.
Please share with me one win.
